Fish Tacos with Marlin Steaks
* Fish tacos are quick to prepare, tasty and good for you. Tacos are a great way to get your kids into fish..
* Try combining with other foods for a party, as an appetizer or main dish. Filling a taco is completely a matter of taste.
* Marlin is my first choice but you can substiute any other firm fleshed fish, tilipia is a good second choice.
Ingredients
Basics:
* 1 1/2 pounds marlin steaks about 1/2 inch thick
* olive oil
* blackening spice
* Hard or soft tortillas, your choice. I like the flour ones best.
* 1 avocado, sliced
* 1 tomato, chopped (Tomatillos are good too)
* 1 small head of lettuce, shredded
* Hot sauce of choice, sriracha or cholula are both good
Extras:
* Black or refried beans
* Cheese
* Onions
* Black olives
* Anything else you like...
Directions
* Be sure to cut the marlin into 1/2 inch thick steaks, it will cook more quickly. Rub the marlin with olive oil. Dust with a coating of blackening spice, the more you use, the spicier it gets. Saute in pan with olive oil or grill for about 3 to 4 minutes per side. Remove and cut into strips or crumble into flakes.
* Add marlin to tortillas and top with fillings of your choice, simple!
* Serves 4 people. Enjoy!
